So, where to begin?

Regardless of what business you’re in, you’re sending messages all day long. Every word on your website, the way you answer emails, the freebies you offer, your digital products, captions on your Instagram feed, thank you notes, and sign-up forms—they all add up to one clear message that reinforces who you are and what you care about.

And this is precisely where you should begin:  Who are you, and what do you care about? And this question is not just about the service or product you provide, but what you believe and how you choose to run your business and live your life. You might say it’s both your line in the sand and why you get up in the morning. Hopefully, your answers are also what sets you apart from others in your industry and the key to how your service or product will improve the quality of your customer or client’s life.

Of course, after all those questions, you must ask one more: how will you tell your story in a way that speaks truth to what you believe and care about while also engaging and converting your ideal customer or client?

Whether you’re building, growing, or reimagining your business, there are clear elements you need to include in your messaging. You need to highlight your product, describe your service, and demonstrate expertise and experience. And you need to show value and a clear pathway to the right solutions or a better or more exciting way to get there (whatever that may mean for your business). 

 In short, you need to get your customer or client from where they are now to where they want to be. And we’d be well served to remember that we’re all in the same boat, hoping to move somewhere better than where we are, all while hopefully enjoying the moment we’re in, which is not just the universal key to good living, but good for our business.

Read between the lines (what really matters).

 But there also needs to be an unspoken message that your audience will read between the lines. A message that piques curiosity, builds enthusiasm, loyalty, trust, and support. More importantly, that message needs to say you are a real person—someone who is authentic, caring, with a genuine desire to serve and a deep love for what you do.

Yes, love is good business, my friends (even when you never say the word out loud).

To help understand your specific needs and goals, along with the voice and style that makes you who you are, I will ask you to fill out a questionnaire in advance, followed by a call (Zoom if you like) to strategize the best approach to tell your business’s unique story. 

 Step 2: Copywriting Blueprint 

Depending on the complexity of the project, I will often have clients fill out my Copywriting Blueprint to help me guide your vision toward impactful messaging that will reflect your business with authenticity and clarity.

 Step 4: Write another word

 Step 5: Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the client is happy
